The Regional Forum

The Forum is a group of care experienced young people who meet regularly (usually in our London and Manchester offices). It guides the work of the Regional Development Workers and steers the direction of the organisation in their region. If you live elsewhere we can put you in touch with other groups.

A National Voice currently operates two Regional Forums in the North West and the South East of England. Regional Development Workers facilitate the Forum groups of young people. If you don't live near our existing forums we can help you find out about existing groups that may already be running in your area, although these groups are not run by A National Voice. Get in touch if you want advice about how to set up a local in/after group in your area.

Forum members can expect to be involved in assisting and supporting the Regional Development Associates in some of the following tasks:

• Networking with other young people and professional agencies
• Attending conferences, launches, seminars and other relevant events
• Public speaking at events and conferences
• Training for professionals
• Attending local and central government meetings
• Promoting and publicising a national voice
• Receiving relevant training so as to give interviews to media
• Promoting the rights of young people from care
• Involvement in Parliamentary bills and briefing
• Contributing work for A National Voice newsletter
• Contributing work for A National Voice website
