The Regional Development Worker

The role of the Regional Development Worker is varied and may include:

  • setting up, recruiting to and maintaining a local forum of young people
  • facilitating regular forum meetings and consultations with members
  • keeping in contact and supporting forum members
  • networking with young people and professional agencies
  • attending conferences, launches, seminars and other relevant events
  • public speaking at events and conferences
  • training for professionals
  • attending relevant meetings and events
  • promoting and publicising a national voice
  • promoting the rights of young people from care
  • contributing to a national voice website
  • contributing to a national voice quarterly newsletter

A National Voice

is an organisation run by and for care experienced young people. Staff are also care experienced.

Our main aim is to create positive changes to the Care System in England and provide a national platform to hear the voices of approx 60,000 children and young people who are Looked After.
